Food at a wedding in Italy (part 1)

What do you personally associate with a wedding? White dress, nerves, rings, toastmaster, photographer, guests, Banquet, competitions. What if we added the word” Italian “to”wedding”? Will something change? I am sure that for a couple of minutes you will think, and those of you who have seen the famous film “the Godfather” will remember what long scenes Francis Ford Coppola told about the wedding of don Corleone’s daughter.

And there is a logical explanation for this. The Italians have a real cult of food. They talk a lot about food, they don’t hesitate to look into the plates of their neighbors to evaluate the dish, and, obviously, they eat a lot. It would seem that in the Russian tradition, the wedding feast is the most significant part of the budget. Continue reading →
